Why there is no chart data between August 29, 2025 and July 12, 2026.
The historical race chart ends August 29, 2025. The current leaderboard is dated July 12, 2026. The months in between are blank on every Model Gauntlet chart, and that blank space is deliberate. This page explains the three reasons.
Reason one
The archive is frozen and ends August 29, 2025.
The historical view contains 11 selected published snapshots from May 8, 2023 through August 29, 2025, taken from LMArena's historical Space source files. The source registry states the rule plainly: "Frozen archive of eleven source files through August 2025. It is never extended or continued." The last selected source file is dated August 29, 2025, so the archive line stops there.
Each of the 11 raw snapshot files carries a published SHA-256 receipt in the source registry. Nothing after August 29, 2025 was reviewed into that archive, so nothing after August 29, 2025 appears on the archive chart.
Reason two
LMArena's methods changed, so the eras do not connect.
The selected snapshots cross LMArena rating-method changes, including Bradley-Terry, style control, and frequency reweighting. Endpoint differences are not normalized like-for-like performance changes.
The archive window itself already crosses known LMArena method changes: Bradley-Terry replaced Elo on January 9, 2024, style control became the default on May 16, 2025, and frequency reweighting arrived July 23, 2025. The current table uses LMArena's text style-control overall subset, which is not the same measurement the older archive files report.
Because the measurements differ, drawing a line from the August 29, 2025 archive endpoint to the July 12, 2026 snapshot would present a method change as a performance change. Model Gauntlet does not calculate or visualize movement across that boundary.
Reason three
The current era is one reviewed point-in-time snapshot.
The current leaderboard reports a single pinned LMArena snapshot published July 12, 2026, retrieved July 14, 2026 from dataset revision 4a6c22ada142f24563a2ecc5ceb1ce94ab8be019 under a CC-BY-4.0 license. It is a point-in-time view, not a series, so it contributes exactly one dated observation and no trend line.
Model Gauntlet publishes only reviewed, pinned source artifacts. No reviewed artifact covers the months between August 29, 2025 and July 12, 2026, and we do not reconstruct, interpolate, or backfill values a source did not publish. A blank chart region is more honest than an estimated one.
